1876

1876: Geschwister Eisenbeiss

Since 1876, the company Geschwister Eisenbeiss has been a manufacturer of brewing pitch (clear, meltable resins for sealing wooden beer casks) and preservatives for malt and roasted coffee.

Having started in Neustadt an der Weinstraße in the Palatinate, the company first relocated to Heidelberg in 1902 and then finally to its current site in Wiesloch in 1904.

1902

1902: Geschwister Eisenbeiss

The period leading up to World War II caused the company Eisenbeiss Siblings, now located at its current site in Wiesloch, to flourish and grow until preparations for the impending war eventually led to a decline in the consumption of imported coffee.
However, with caramel coatings for malt coffee, the company initially had a strong mainstay that secured its revenue. With the outbreak of war in 1939, however, coffee imports became impossible; instead of malt coffee, there was coffee substitute.
To prevent operations from having to be shut down, the company took over the production of plasticizers on behalf of Rhein Chemie and operated this until the spring of 1945.
Following that, the Wiesloch-Walldorf railway station was bombed, and the facility was completely destroyed.
After the end of the war, reconstruction began gradually along with the search for alternatives—until they eventually crossed paths with Kissel + Wolf GmbH in Mannheim.

1956

1956: Geschwister Eisenbeiss acquire company shares

Kissel + Wolf GmbH (founded in 1893 in Mannheim as a supra-regional trading company for animal glues) developed into a regionally significant specialist wholesaler until the business was completely destroyed in World War II.
In the post-war years, recovery was only temporary until 1956, when Eisenbeiss Siblings took over the business and relocated production to Wiesloch.
With just a few employees, an independent production facility was established. The main focus at that time was the manufacture of adhesives.

1959

1959: Dawn of the Screen Printing Era

Through the entrepreneurial initiative of Richard F. Eisenbeiss, new, promising business fields were opened up with chemical products for screen and textile printing.
Thus led to the licensed production of the AZOCOL screen printing emulsion and the development of further successful products

1963

1963: Acquisition of Albert Rose Lackfabrik in Kaldenkirchen

This further strengthened activities as a supplier for textile printing, and the well-established international sales network of the Albert Rose Lackfabrik also helped the Wiesloch-based company achieve an export-oriented focus.

1988

1988: Acquisition of ROWA adhesive production

In addition to the core production focus on chemical products for screen and textile printing, the tradition of adhesives was further maintained and promoted.
For this reason, Kissel + Wolf GmbH acquired ROWA's adhesive production in 1988, thereby expanding its flock adhesive program for industrial applications.

1989

1989: Expansion of the Operation

With the construction of a new production hall and modern laboratories, Kissel + Wolf invested in the future. The new facilities provided more space for production and the continued development of chemical systems—an important foundation for the company’s next steps.

1999

1999: ULANO Becomes Part of the Corporate Group

Another groundbreaking step, carried out in the meantime by the next generation—through R. David Eisenbeiss—was the integration of the New York-based Ulano Corporation in 1999, which further strengthened the manufacturing of products for stencil making, particularly through a complete film program for screen printing. A valuable additional brand thus joined the corporate group.

2011

2011: Construction of the New Warehouse

In 2011, our two new warehouses with integrated goods receipt were completed. The halls are used for storing packaging, packaging materials, and raw materials, creating optimal conditions for an efficient material supply through modern storage technology.
With storage areas of 840 square meters and 1,040 square meters, the halls offer sufficient capacity for our requirements. The equipment includes a pallet rack system with around 600 storage locations as well as additional block storage areas for approx. 500 pallets.

2017

2017: Construction of Our New Hazardous Materials Warehouse

With the construction of our new hazardous materials warehouse in 2017, we took an important step toward further strengthening safety, responsibility, and future-proof operations. The warehouse creates the conditions for the professional and legally compliant storage of chemical substances, thereby supporting the protection of employees, the environment, and processes.

2019

2019: Expansion of Production and Acquisition of SORAL AG

Successful business and the relocation of foreign production facilities to Germany allowed Kissel + Wolf GmbH to continue growing. To meet the increasing needs of customers even better, the company decided to build a new production hall. With a total area of around 1,300 square meters, the two-story building was made entirely of concrete and is completely independent from the existing production rooms. Featuring its own power and water supply, the new production facility guarantees the company maximum operational reliability and thus an even higher readiness to deliver—requirements that are particularly demanded in the automotive industry. Additionally, SORAL AG (formerly Serilith) became part of the Kissel + Wolf Group. SORAL is a provider of solutions in screen, pad, and digital printing as well as a full range of products in the advertising technology sector.
